The bean to bar chocolate world is filled with single origin, single source chocolate. Good chocolate, but with little flavor depth.
My goal in creating third planet chocolate was to give people an enjoyable chocolate eating experience unique from other chocolate currently on the market. So one day while the wife and I were drinking wine, I realized wine makers blend grapes to get interesting flavor profiles, and thought “maybe I can do that with my chocolate.”
I started blending an assortment of cocoa beans when making chocolate, and realized that this was the flavor depth I wanted in chocolate.
To make the cocoa bean blends, I buy my beans from four different distributors throughout the US, which allows me the opportunity to make chocolate from coca beans from around the world. The bean combos are always changing, making the chocolate at third planet chocolate an interesting and fun eating experience.
